Abstract

In the previous issues of „Pielęgniarstwo w Stanach Nagłych” (Nursing in Medical Emergencies), two parts of a series of publications concerning dyspnoea, one of the most common medical emergencies, were published. It was defined as „a subjective experience of the lack of air”, i.e. a symptom that may be caused, apart from the conditions described before, by heart failure, also in the course of acute coronary syndrome, as well as pulmonary embolism, which is particularly serious, and chest injuries.
