Zapotrzebowanie rodziców dzieci hospitalizowanych w oddziale neurochirurgii dziecięcej na wsparcie społeczne

Abstract
The term „collective patient”, i.e. a child with their parents, has been used in paediatrics for several years. The essence of the communication between a paediatric nurse and the parents of a hospitalized child are first of all information exchange and emotional support. The relation between the nurse and the patient’s parents is a kind of assisting relation. They create a system in which the nurse plays the role of an assistant for parents who are being supported. The main aim of the paper has been to present the need of the parents of children hospitalized at the Paediatric Neurosurgery Ward of the John Paul II Upper Silesian Child Health Centre for social support.
