DYNAMICS OF WORLD PRICES FOR RAW MATERIALS: CRISIS CYCLES OF BEHAVIOR

Abstract
The article provides an empirical analysis of the dynamics of world prices for raw materials for the period of 1980–2017. It shows the correlation dependencies of individual raw materials with the general index of world prices on commodities, as well as connections within the limits of separate commodity groups. The article identifies the presence of a short-term cycle of raw “peaks” and local minima with the help of deviations of the current values of price indices from the equilibrium trend.
