Early visualisation diagnosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma: case report
Journal Title: Prosthodontics - Year 2017, Vol 67, Issue 4
Abstract
Oral squamous cell carcinoma has very severe psychophysical implications and its incidence in Poland has been on the rise for decades. Early detection and appropriate diagnostics can lead to reduced extend of surgical therapy, which considerably improves the quality of life of cured patients. Many methods are available that support clinicians in this aim, among which autofluorescence technique appears to be the most frequently reported one. This paper presents the use of Identafi system in early diagnosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma in a female patient, who presented to the dental office for assessment in terms of implant-supported rehabilitation.
