EATING HABITS OF PRIMARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

The goal of the research was to collect information about eating habits and nutritional mistakes made by primary and middle school students. The study has shown that there is a constant need for nutrition education for both young and older children. Certain abnormalities have been noticed in the way students manage their diet. Older students more often than their younger colleagues do not eat breakfast before leaving to school, do not bring second meal with them and skip their lunch. Another important conclusion, especially for parents of primary school students, is that its crucial to limit their visits at fast-food restaurants. The study shows that although young children are not yet independent they tend to dine there more often than any other surveyed group.
