ECONOMIC VECTOR OF CHINA’S AFRICAN POLICY: CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS

Abstract
The article attempts to analyze the economic vector of China‟s policy in Africa in the context of Beijing‟s foreign policy strategy primarily through the prism of investment activity. China is interested in co-operating with African states through existing large mineral resources on the continent, as well as implementing a policy of diversification of energy supply routes. The authors singled out the challenges and prospects for economic cooperation between China and African countries. Challenges faced by official Beijing in developing cooperation with African countries, in particular in the investment sphere have a historical past, as well as the existing imbalance in the internal political development of the states of the region. However, the active involvement of Chinese investors in the economic sphere of the states of the continent is confirmed. In order to improve the implementation of China‟s foreign policy interests in Africa, official Beijing should carefully approach to each project, take into account the civilizational factor in the region and apply the mechanisms of «soft power».
