Educational policies for early childhood in the province of Buenos Aires: Among laws and parliamentary debates (1946-1952)

Abstract

This article presents the partial results of ongoing research on early childhood education in the province of Buenos Aires during the government of Domingo Mercante (1946-1952). For this we propose three objectives. First, we analyze the influence of ideology sarmientino in early childhood education policies that were implemented during the Peronism. In second place pedagogical study the political discussions which led to the adoption of the law in 1946 Simini established preschool. Finally, we analyze the repeal of the Act in 1951. For the purpose of make an approach to these issues, this paper examines the rules and the speeches that preceded its enactment. We take as information sources the official speeches, the provincial legislation and the daily sessions of the province of Buenos Aires.
