Perspectives on the ethnographic analysis of the social production of the state’s illusory characte
Journal Title: Revista de Estudios Marítimos y Sociales - Year 2010, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
The diffculties that seem to be inherent in the study of the State are closely related to the naturalized appearance that it assumes, and this, in turn, is directly linked to the illusory nature that has been attributed to it by many researchers. The aim of these pages is to outline some of the contributions that ethnography can make to the study of State, particularly in order to expose and dismantle its naturalization and to deepen our understanding of the social processes that are involved in its production.
