EFFECT OF ANTIHYPERTENSIVE AGENTS ON THE ULTRASTRUCTURE OF THE MYOCARDIUM OF RATS SPONTANEOUSLY HYPERTENSION
Journal Title: Ukrainian Scientific Medical Youth Journal / Український Науково-Медичний Молодіжний Журнал - Year 2012, Vol 68, Issue 2
Abstract
It has been found out that hypertensive rats have substantial malfunction of contractile and energy cardiomyocyte apparatuses of predominantly destructive nature. Amlodipine decreases number of injured myofibrils, prevents their amplified contraction. This preparation promotes mitochondrial fusion which, due to good integrity of organelle ultrastructure, has compensatory nature. Special attention should be given to the fact that amlodipine is able to induce significant increase in number of blood capillaries, small diameter and disclosed lumen of which is the evidence of active new growth of the latter.
