Effect Of Coolıng Rate On Mechanıcal Propertıes In Resıstant Weldıng Joınt Of AISI 304 Staınless Steel
Journal Title: Gazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi Part C: Tasarım ve Teknoloji - Year 2018, Vol 6, Issue 2
Abstract
AISI 304 stainless steel plates are widespreadly used in automotive, food and chemical industries. These materials are joined by resistant spot welding. Mechanical properties of resistant spot-welded sheets are changed by using different cooling conditions after welding process. In this study, the effects of current intensity and cooling conditions during spot welding of AISI 304 stainless steel on mechanical properties and microstructure of the welded joint were investigated. Tensile-shear tests and hardness tests of joints welded at different current intensities and cooling rates were carried out. Morphology and microstructure of nucleus zone were examined. Suitable joining properties were provided by using 7.5 kA of welding current and cooling with air. Although the tensile-shear strength of the joints increased with increasing current intensity, the joint has been over-deformed and has come to a point of gushing.

Effect of Graphene Nanoplatelets Reinforcement on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of AlSi10Mg Alloy
In this study, the effect of reinforcement of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs that consist of a few graphene layers with a thickness of less than 100 nm and have extraordinary mechanical properties) on the microstructure an...
The Behaviour of Non-Structural Elements Under Earthquake Effect in Industrial Buildings
In our country, the earthquake risk of is considerably high in intensively populated and industrialized regions with ongoing high industrial development levels. During earthquakes, non-structural elements (NSE) can cause...
Back Stretching Behaviors in V Bending
The springback is difference between the die geometry and bended sheet geometry. This phenomena is a general shaping problem in sheet metal forming. In V bending, the numerous factors such as material (material type, thi...
Effect of Insulation Thickness on Thermal Stratification in Hot Water Tanks Abstract
One of the important factors to be considered in increasing the efficiency of hot water storage tanks used for thermal energy storage is thermal stratification. Reducing the temperature of the water at the base of the ta...
