Effect of Rolling Speed on Electrical Damage of GCr15 Steel During Tribology with Current

Journal Title: 河南科技大学学报(自然科学版) - Year 2019, Vol 40, Issue 3

Abstract

To understand the electric damage of bearing GCr15 steel during tribology with current, the electrical breakdown behaviors and the electric/tribological characteristics of 61808 bearings were studied under different rolling speed. The results show that with the increase of rolling speed from 100 r/min to 800 r/min, the breakdown voltage increases from 6. 6 V to 7. 8 V and the system resistance after breakdown increases from3. 15 Ω to 10. 55 Ω. After breakdown, GCr15 steel is melted or spattered due to the high temperature of arc. Some erosion pits, bolls and oxides are produced. Arc-affected area are pressed into flakes during rolling. As contracts, only slight scratching and abrasive wear was found after rolling without current or before breakdown at the same rotating speed.
