Effect of Zinc Doping on Electrochemical Performance of Carbon Coated Lithium Vanadium Phosphate

Abstract

Li2CO3, V2O5, NH4H2PO4 and ZnO were used as raw material, and glucose was used as carbon source and reductant.Li3V2-xZnx (PO4) 3/C (x = 0, 0.05, 0.10) were fabricated by high-temperature solid state method.By X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and high resolution transmission electron microscopy, the crystalline phases, structures and micro morphology of as-prepared samples were characterized and analyzed.By galvanostatic charge and discharge, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, the electrochemical performance of samples were investigated.The results show that Zn2+ doping can not change the intrinsic structure of Li3 V2 (PO4) 3.Properly doping Zn2+ makes Li3V2 (PO4) 3 particles more uniform and structure more stable, resulting in greatly enhanced eletrochemical performances.When x is0.05, the initial discharge specific capacity is 123.1 m A·h·g-1.After charge and discharge for 20 cycles at0.5 C, the corresponding capacity retention rate still remains 99.76%.
