Effects of hospital-to-home nutritional management model combined with motivational care intervention in patients undergoing endoscopic surgery for early gastrointestinal tumors
Journal Title: Chinese Journal of Clinical Research - Year 2024, Vol 37, Issue 9
Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of hospital-to-home(H2H)nutrition management model combined with incentive nursing intervention in patients with early gastrointestinal tumors undergoing endoscopic surgery. Methods A retrospective comparison was performed on the different nursing intervention modes of 80 patients with early gastrointestinal tumors (including early colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, and esophageal cancer) who underwent endoscopic mucosal resection in Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. From July 2019 to June 2021, 40 patients were treated as the control group, and from July 2021 to July 2022, 40 patients were treated as the intervention group. The experimental group received H2H nutrition management model combined with incentive nursing intervention, while the control group received routine nursing care. Before and after intervention, two sets of weight measurements and the patient-generated subjective global assessment (PG-SGA) were conducted to evaluate the patient's nutritional status, the chronic disease self-efficacy energy scale (CDSES) and the self-made digestive endoscopy outpatient patient satisfaction survey were used to evaluate self-efficacy and patient satisfaction. Results After intervention, the weight, PG-SGA, and CDSES scores of both groups of patients improved, and the weight of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group[(61.70 ± 5.30) kg vs (58.51 ± 5.25) kg, t=2.704, P=0.008]. The PG-SGA and CDSES scores in all dimensions were better than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Meanwhile, compared with the control group, the satisfaction score of patients in the experimental group was higher (P<0.05). Conclusion The H2H nutrition management model combined with incentive nursing intervention can effectively improve the nutritional status of patients with early gastrointestinal tumors undergoing endoscopic surgery, and can enhance self-efficacy and nursing satisfaction.
