Effects of Pressing and Sintering on Pore Morphology and Microstructural Properties in AA 2014 Alloy
Journal Title: Gazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi Part C: Tasarım ve Teknoloji - Year 2013, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
In this study AA 2014 alloy powder was produced powder metallurgy gas atomization method. Experiment samples were produced by being pressed the powders which average sizes were 90,66 μm under 650MPa having optimum pressing pressure in the conclusion of experiments done in 250-875MPa pressing pressure range in one-way press. It was experimented at 550-620ºC range for the same optimization sintering temperatures and application time was chosen as 1,2,4 hours. The examinations of Optical microscope, SEM and EDS were achieved in order to identify pore-structure interaction of these optimization experiments. Porosity at the increasing sintering temperatures was increased and was found that its shape is irregular. The highest hardness value was measured as 56,84 HV at 560 ºC for 4 hours sintering process for AA 2014 aluminium alloy.
