Design, Manufacturing and Experimental Investigation of Different Types of Solar Cooker
Journal Title: Gazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi Part C: Tasarım ve Teknoloji - Year 2014, Vol 2, Issue 4
Abstract
In this study, the performances of the solar cookers produced in different types in Ankara conditions were examined. Two different types of experiment were carried out as water and potato. Water experiments were done in the same conditions and day, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. in July and August, by 1000 grams of water into the three different sun cookers. As a result of the experiments, the best result was obtained in the snail type sun cooker with 34 % performance in July. The next best result was obtained in box type sun cooker with 20 % performance in July. The worst result was obtained in chest type sun cooker with 11.5 % performance in August. In potato experiments, the samples were boiled in the snail type, the chest type and the box type sun cooker in 160, 180 and 270 min, respectively. The best performance again was obtained in snail type sun cooker.
