Journal Title: Prohominum - Year 2022, Vol 4, Issue 1

Abstract

The mental health of humans is as important as physical health, so it requires care and attention from the early stages of life. On the other hand, violence affects the integrity of people from all aspects. In the case of psychological violence, it directly affects the psyche, causing low self-esteem, fears, insecurities and emotional dependence. That is why the objective of this research is to describe emotional dependence as a predisposing trait in psychological violence conceived in Ecuadorian laws. To fulfill this purpose, the methodology of a review study, of monographic type, was usedfor the search of information, a bibliographic archaeum was made of more than 50 scientific articles related to the subject, and theanalysis of the information was carried out under the technique of signing, underlining and analytical reading. In Ecuador, inview of the high rates of complaints about violence against women, a legal framework has been created to ensure the protection of victims and to hold the perpetrator accountable for the crime committed
