EN TORNO AL TRATAMIENTO LEXICOGRÁFICO DE LOS VESREÍSMOS

Abstract
Th e vesre is a linguistic phenomenon which has been relatively little studied. Its descriptions in lexicographical sources seem to be contradictory, incomplete, or even inaccurate as regards its defi nition. Furthermore, it is associated predominantly with the Spanish of Argentina. At the same time, its vitality in other parts of Latin America seems to be a fact that should be examined more closely. For these reasons, in the fi rst part of this paper we attempt to summarize briefl y the premises and terminology (vesreísmo, voz vesreable, vesreamiento) presented in other contributions that, in our view, are essential to its description. Th is part of the paper is based on the material concerning the Argentinian variant of the Spanish language. In the second part, we describe concisely the existing vesre in some regions of Hispanic America by choosing three diff erent Latin American countries (Costa Rica, Colombia, Panama) based on numerous sources, especially lexicographical, which, as we will demonstrate, provide highly fragmentary information. We seek, then, to study the lexicographical practice relative to the words created in the vesre. However, given the nature of this contribution, we analyse only some words and their respective entries in the various works that we have used for this study. In the third and the last part, we trace the possible new avenues of research of vesre without limiting us to Argentinian variant of the Spanish language but taking a broader perspective, that is, also taking into account other variants of Spanish.
