ENGAGING THE ONLINE LEARNER

Abstract

Comparing to past, online courses became more modern during the last decades. It has been supported by the improvement of modern online technology and technical equipment of its users. People are quite busy, so they fancy the possibility to study from home environment, which is the real advantage of online courses. This paper deals with some specifications of online environment and engaged learning, while describing the roles of a student and teacher, as well as four phases of engagement. It partly describes some suitable activities and tools due to make this process running smoothly. It also deals with assessment and feedback as two inevitable parts of each high-quality online course.
