Environmental Risk Assessment for Thermal Power Plants
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii "Dunarea de Jos" din Galati. Fascicula IX, Metalurgie si Stiinta Materialelor - Year 2015, Vol 38, Issue 4
Abstract
Thermal power plants still represent an important source of energy both in Romania and in Europe. Risks on the environment are primarily generated by the noxae generated from combustion of fossil fuels, namely: noxious gases (CO2, CO, NOx, SOx), particulate, heavy metals (As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb), CH4, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), dioxins and furans. All these pollutants plus the slag and the ash resulting from the combustion of fuels have, in time, a significant environmental impact. The environmental hazards caused by these emissions are analyzed in this paper depending on the gravity of the consequences and likelihood of occurrence. It shows the risk analysis, the risk matrix and treating and monitoring to identified risks.

Producing Bimetals by Direct Melting of the Bronze Machining Chips into Steel Supports
The bimetals can satisfy some requests of the working conditions impossible to be obtained using one single metallic material. The bimetallic pieces are obtained by the different production methods by covering of a steel...
Studies and Research on Determining the Cause of the Cracking of X60 Pipeline in the Expanding Operation
In this paper was followed the determination of the cause of pipe cracking in the expansion operation. The metallographic analysis of a sample taken from the X60 pipeline was performed to determine the cause of pipe crac...
Assessment of the Influence of Breakage Strength Rocks by Cox Method
Analyzed according to the theory of continuous mechanics, medium rock massif is a natural environment difficult to know, so the forecasts referring to its behaviour are approximate and uncertain. Such an assertion become...
Creating Integrated System Between Lifecycle Quality Management and Finite Element Analysis to Improve Typical Turbine Blade Design as a Case Study
This article proposes a process to integrate efficiently the Finite Element Analysis in the Quality Life-Cycle Management in order to use the simulation engineering in analyzing and improving the design of one industrial...
Experimental Research Regarding the Obtaining of Friction Elements
Friction materials are used as bimetallic friction elements, consisting of a friction material layer sintered on a steel backing. Using the electron microscopy techniques (microprobe analyzer) some of the diffusion proce...
