EPIDEMIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HIV/HCV-KOINFECTED COHORT OF PATIENTS IN POLTAVA REGION

Abstract

Th e aim of the study was to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of a cohort of HIV/HCV-coinfected patients in Poltava region, which were monitored from 2003 to 2014 year. Th e study involved 1537 patients, including 848 – HIV/HCV-coinfected and 689 HIV-monoinected individuals. It was found out that the proportion of HIV/ HCV-coinfected patients in the cohort during the observation period was maintained at 56.1% - 65.9%. In the group of HIV/HCV-coinfected people, a signifi cant prevalence of males (63.4%, p = 0.000), age group 30-39 years (54.0%, p = 0.000) with the parenteral route of transmission (77.2%, p = 0.000) was recorded.
