ESTIMATION OF MOTOR FITNESS OF POZNAN'S YOUTH AT 13-15 YEARS OLD

Abstract

Background. The aim of this work is to compare certain components of fitness of children from 1st to 3rd class of middle school coming from the same big city enviroment.Material and methods. The research was done with the use of diagnostic questionnaire. Within the method the authors used two techniques: Denisiuk's test of physical fitness and questionnaire. The respondents included 446 children from schools in Poznań – among them were 238 girls. The empirical material which was analysed contained data gathered at random. To describe the features authors used describing statistics, one-factor analysis and graphic method of presenting data.Results. The results hw that there are great differences in the level of chosen components of fitness among children of different schools. The biggest differences wer noticed among 1st class students and the smallest among the 2nd class students. As far as the fitness component is concerned the biggest differences concerned speed and the smallest flexibility.Conclusions. Children who take part in additional, after school sport lessons had better results in tests than their friend who do not do any sport after school. The level of fitness at schools is relevant to technical possibilities which schools have. Majority of respondents was for active way of leisure.
