Journal Title: PhytoChem & BioSub Journal - Year 2019, Vol 13, Issue 1

Abstract

This study was conducted with the objective of inventorying the spontaneous species found in an extreme "rocket of salt" environment of the Algerian steppe and to collect information on the ancestral know-how of the local populations in terms of therapeutic use. The results obtained show that more than 45% (16 plants) of the listed plant species have been recognized and identified as medicinal species. These plants belong to ten families of which the Lamiaceae, Asteraceae and Poaceaeare the most represented. Several diseases are treated by these species by local populations, some have a definite therapeutic use while others are used in the treatment of several diseases. These plants are used alone or in combination. The most incriminated pathologies concern diabetes, abdominal pains fever and renal function. Leaves are most used with decoction as the most used mode
