Evaluating The Quality Implementation of Healthy Learning Institution and Its Impact on Learners' Well-Being and Academic Performance

Journal Title: Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal - Year 2024, Vol 18, Issue 1

Abstract

This study employed the descriptive-correlation method during the school year 2022-2023 to evaluate the quality implementation of a Healthy Learning Institution (HLI) and its impact on learners' well-being and academic performance. Sixty-five parents and 22 learners from grades 4-6 at Yugno Elementary School were selected as respondents using total enumeration. A survey questionnaire was constructed, validated, administered, and retrieved to gather data on the quality of HLI implementation, learners' well-being, and academic performance. Statistical analyses included weighted mean, standard deviation, T-test, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results indicated that prioritizing feedback and suggestions from stakeholders in planning enhances collaboration and inclusivity, leading to well-rounded plans. The HLI program effectively provided comprehensive health education and support to students, resulting in improved well-being and academic performance. There was a significant positive correlation between students' academic achievement and the level of HLI implementation. Recommendations include using comprehensive checklists for evaluating HLI implementation, further studying learners' well-being and competencies, modifying instruments to address academic challenges, and conducting similar studies with larger sample sizes in different locations.
