EVALUATION OF SELECTED PROPERTIES OF A SURFACE LAYER AFTER MILLING USING INSERTS WITH DIFFERENT COATINGS
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2017, Vol 272, Issue 2
Abstract
The article presents a comparison of results of measurements of the geometrical structure of milled surfaces with inserts with different coatings. The study was done on a vertical milling centre. The first step was to determine the properties of milled surfaces using new inserts. For this purpose, an optical apparatus was used. The samples were then subjected to continuous treatment. Upon completion of the declared quantities of machining cycles, these surfaces were analysed. This allowed us to determine the influence of the coating of the inserts on the surface layer of milled surfaces continuously.

THE USE OF BIODEGRADABLE CUTTING FLUID FOR THIN AND HARD a-C:H AND TiAlN COATINGS
This paper presents results of tribological tests performed under lubricated friction conditions using a T-01M analyser. The lubricant was biodegradable cutting fluid containing a special-purpose additive – zinc aspartat...
SOLUTION HEAT TREATMENT OF ALUMINIUM 7075 BY INDUCTION HEATING
The major objective of this study is to solid solution treatment of 7075 aluminium alloy by induction heating. This study was carried out in an argonium atmosphere chamber. The first step was to analyze the influence of...
WEAR PATTERN TESTING OF CERAMIC COATINGS UNDER RECIPROCATING SLIDING
A ball-on-plate system was used for the investigation of the wear of ceramic coatings. Coated stainless steel balls (Ø 5 mm) were sliding under constant load at a nominal surface pressure of 1,155 GPa on a ceramic coated...
SURFACE RANDOM PARAMETERS FOR ENDOPROSTHESIS LUBRICATION
Within the last ten years in the European Union the number of bone fractures caused by the osteoarthritis increased twofold. More than 100000 hip or knee joints in total have been implanted in Germany during one year. Wi...
Wear and friction behaviour of alumina thin coatings prepared by sol-gel methods
In this study, alumina coatings were prepared by the sol-gel method using the dip-coating technique. All samples were prepared on silicon wafers Si (100) with the use of aluminium sec-butoxide as a precursor. The surface...
