EVIDENCE-BASED SOCIAL WORK IN THE FIELD OF MENTAL HEALTH PRACTICES

Abstract
This study is designed to raise awareness the importance of social work implementation in the field of mental health and to evaluate this implementation in the scope of evidence based social work. Previously the status, roles and implementation methods of social workers are explained, then the need of evidence based implementations in the psychiatric social work is revealed. In this concept, it is discussed how evidence base implementations are going to be improved in psychiatric social work. At the end of the study it is concluded that dissemination of evidence based practices in the field of theory, implementation and investigation is essential to enhance the quality and visibility of social workers’ service in the psychiatry clinic. It is recommended to dissemination of researches, developing the practice guidelines and establishing the evidence based practice centres.
