EXISTENTIAL LONELINESS OF THE CREATIVE PERSONALITY IN THE UKRAINIAN AND ENGLISH PROSE WORKS OF THE INTERWAR PERIOD

Abstract
The article analyzes existential loneliness of the creative personality in the prose works by the Ukrainian and English authors of the interwar time. Loneliness is defined as a basic existential of an artist, the sence of his existence and the source of creativity. A conscious choice of loneliness means transcendence in thinking, and hence reaching a new level of self-consciousness. There are identified various forms of loneliness: loneliness-alienation, loneliness-responsibility, loneliness-solitude. For pseudo-creators, escape from loneliness to the space of empirical existence is characteristic.
