Experimental research of the information system of development of algorithmic thinking

Abstract

The research of the efficiency of information systems (IS) of development of algorithmic thinking to support the learning process of students of computer specialties of a technical university was carried out. The essence of the term «algorithmic thinking» was determined as the result of the analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature. The components of algorithmic thinking were identified. Problems in evaluating of quality of IS were noticed. The analysis of the most known methods of estimating of information systems of developing of the algorithmic thinking was carried out and the methodology of experiment was submitted. During the research the methods of Professor D.Kirkpatrick was used. According to the mentioned methods, the learning process with the use of the information system is divided into four levels that gradually evaluated. The method includes the use of the complex of research methods including surveys, tests, polls and ranking. Thus the practical application of new skills, obtained during the learning is achieved. The maximum quality of training activities with the use of the created IS of algorithmic thinking development is provided. The practical significance of the study is the using of the obtained results for the development of algorithmic thinking of the future specialists of computer specialties in the technical universities during the studying of subjects «Algorithmization and programming» and «Theory of algorithms».
