Exploratory Study of the Foundation and Direction of Contemporary Medical Ethics' New Journey in China

Abstract
Medical ethics in contemporary China refers to the history and status quo of the development of this field in China since the early 1980s. Over the past 40 years, medical ethics in China has made huge achievements in terms of medical ethics culture, theory, and practice, etc., laying a solid foundation for the new journey of medical ethics in China. This new journey represents an epochal issue in the development of the discipline. Nowadays, the discipline faces a context and circumstance totally different from the past. The progress of medical science and technology, as well as the acceleration of medical socialization driven by the rapid development of Chinese society, brings about a combination of traditional and new ethical issues, making a new journey imperative for the development of the discipline.
