FASCINATIVE IMMANENCE OF POLITICAL FLIRT: VERBAL AND NONVERBAL ASPECTS

Abstract

The subject of the given article is the realization of the conversational principle of fascination in political flirt. The purpose of the article is to prove that fascination is an integral part in political flirt. To investigate fascination in the political discourse there were used methods of discourse and conversational analysis. According to the results of the research, the pragmatic characteristic of fascination in political flirt is found in a special type of manipulation — political flirt. The discursive illocution of fascination is directed at seducing the mass addressee, manipulating the public impact and opinion, winning them over and making them like the represented political force. The key conclusion consists in the following: the conversational principle of fascination in political flirt is aimed at making others feel important and liked. These results can be used in the sphere of political linguistics and modern discourse studies.
