Features of teaching methods of presentation skills to the students of foreign languages departments

Abstract
The article investigates characteristics of the introduction of media education technologies in shaping the social and cultural competence of the students of foreign languages departments in the process of training at higher educational institutions. The research is dedicated to the problem of using multimedia presentations in the studying process of mediacompetence acquisition by the future philologists. The article reveals the peculiarities of presentation skills as an effective method of teaching, proposes different kinds of presentations and possibilities of their use in teaching Practical Course of English to the students of foreign languages departments. The article demonstrates the complex approach in teaching Practical Course of English. It indicates on the tutor’s tasks as to the preparation and the holding the presentations and the students’ recommendations as to the preparations of a presentation, its holding and making the computer version of this presentation in PowerPoint. The main attention is paid to the communicative direction of the presentations. The necessity for the discussion of the presentations after their holdings is underlined.
