FEATURES OF THE IBERIAN SYSTEM OF LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT: COMPARATIVE LEGAL ANALYSIS

Abstract
The article highlights the historical example of the creation and operation of the regulatory framework of local self-government in Latin America, which historically was borrowed from the former metropolitan areas on the Iberian Peninsula. The main problems that these countries have encountered in creating a municipal system are described in detail. There are several examples of the work of local authorities in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and Argentina, and the experience of these states, which our country can borrow to further develop its perfect system of local self-government.
