FEIRA DE PROJETOS: INOVAÇÕES PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO SOCIAL, AMBIENTAL E ECONÔMICO

Abstract
The encouragement to research and the current social contexts motivate people to direct their knowledge to the innovations for business opportunities or to sustainable solutions for the society. Based on this, this article presents a study which has as a main objective to analyse if the winning projects with a practical application from the 2014 edition of a Project Fair of a professional education institution have characteristics of innovation and sustainable development, in economic, social and environmental dimensions. Initially, a general contextualization of innovation is presented, focusing, then, on the social and environmental innovation which supports the following subject, sustainability, explored in its three dimensions. These contents have substantiated the conducting of this exploratory research, with data collection from personal interviews with the student-authors of the projects, with mentor teachers and with the members of the communities where the projects were implemented and sustain the result that the projects from this professional education institution’s Project Fair are small-dimension initiatives, articulated with innovation and with the dimensions of sustainability, even if it is not always intentional, and foster sustainable innovations and solutions for a greater environmental awareness.
