FORMATION OF HEALTHKEEPING COMPETENCE OF CHILDREN REPRESENTING DIFFERENT AGE GROUPS

Abstract

The article underlines the importance of solving the health problem in growing generation on the state level. The expediency of formation of children’s value attitude towards personal health and health of surrounded people, their understanding of the priority of a healthy way of life on the basis of the competence-targeted approach has been determined. The topicality of formation of preschool children’s healthkeeping competence has been grounded. The article aims at the presentation of the author’s definition of the concept «healthkeeping competence» and the main regulations of the methods of facilitating the formation of preschool children’s healthkeeping competence; the designation of requirements to the organization of the process which provides the formation of healthkeeping competence of children representing different age groups in preschool establishments; the stipulation of the management principles of the process which enables the formation of healthkeeping competence of children representing different age groups in preschool establishments. The article presents the author’s interpretation of the concept «healthkeeping competence». It is marked that the complex of life skills which help to preserve physical, social, mental and spiritual health are the components of the healthkeeping competence. It has been proved that their formation provides a child with the ability to lead a healthy, valuable and interesting life consciously. There have been also presented the main provisions of the author’s methods aimed at the formation of preschool children’s healthkeeping competence. The article outlines some advantages of the children of different age groups over the children representing the same age groups. The requirements to the organization of the formation process of the healthkeeping competence in groups of children of different age have been grounded. These requirements will contribute into the raise of effectiveness of the designated process. The significance of the person-oriented approach in the work with the children of different age groups in preschool educational establishments (PEE) has been revealed.It has been concretized that the use of this approach enables the support of every child’s individual identity, the study and consideration of his / her personal differences while forming his / her life skills are the basis of the healthkeeping competence. The principles which are to be followed while managing the formation process of the healthkeeping competence of children representing different age groups have been grounded. It has been proved that the organization of the formation process of the healthkeeping competence in group of children of different age in preschool educational establishments taking into account potential abilities of every child, as well as inclusion of his / her subjective experience into the process of cognition enables the organization of a healthkeeping activity on the basis of child’s personal needs, interests and aspirations. Thus, a preschooler will be able to transfer absorbed (“old”) ideas into new knowledge about the factors of health preserving, going beyond the measures of subjective experience.
