FORMATION OF THE PROGNOSTIC COMPETENCE OF THE FUTURE OFFICERS’ OF THE ARMED FORCES OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article is focused on the prognostic competence (components, criteria, indices) of the future officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; the comparative description of the formation levels of the future officers’ prognostic competence on the stating and final the stages of the experiment is presented. The preparation structure of the future officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the prognostic activity in the teaching / learning process in a higher military educational establishment that contains three interconnected components (сognitive, action-oriented, person-centred), the criteria (knowledge and contents, processual and technological, personal-oriented) with corresponding indices is represented in the article. The criteria and their indexes characterized the levels of the prognostic competence of the future officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These levels were singled out: low, middle, sufficient. These indexes and levels of the future officers’ prognostic competence allowed us to carry out the initial and final measuring of the investigated competence in the process of teaching the future officers. It has been proved mathematically that the difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of the maturity of the future officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not statistically significant as long as at the beginning of the formative experiment, the above mentioned groups did not differ significantly from each other according to the level of their prognostic competence. The statistical analysis of experimental data verified the obtained results: the test data before and after the forming experiment of the experimental group differ substantially, and this difference is statistically meaningful. The difference between the test data before and after the forming stage of the experiment was not revealed.
