Abstract
The article deals with the etymological origin and general theoretical concepts of forms and methods of control. Their correlation and interconnection are determined, the primacy of forms and methods of control over notarial activity is explored. On the basis of the conducted research a complex conception of the essence and legal nature of the state control in the field of carrying out notarial activity is formed.
