Journal Title: Науковий вісник Південноукраїнського національного педагогічного університету імені К. Д. Ушинського - Year 2017, Vol 117, Issue 4
Abstract
The problems dealing with the formation of specialists’ competitiveness within the sphere of economics are theoretically substantiated in the article. The author notes that one of the most important strategic tasks at the modern stage of modernization of Ukraine’s higher education system is to ensure the competitiveness while training specialists in accordance with the level of international standards. It is specified that the main goal of professional education is to train a qualified specialist who must be capable of effective professional work according to his /her specialty in a competing labour market. The author emphasizes that the qualitative training of economists is associated with the introduction of a competently oriented teaching strategy in the practice of a higher educational establishment. In higher pedagogical education, the transition to competence-oriented training is considered in two aspects. First, there is a modernization of the content of professional (vocational) education, which involves its selection and structuring with the simultaneous determination of the productive component of the educational process ‒ the acquisition of competencies by students. Secondly, there is a need to form a goal-oriented interdisciplinary and substantive competencies among future economists. The concepts such as «competitiveness» are specified. In fact, competitiveness is associated with the success of a person in both professional and personal spheres. At the same time, it is advisable to consider competitiveness as a stable personality of a specialist to realize professional competence consciously and creatively at a sufficient level of possession of necessary social and communicative knowledge, skills and personal characteristics. It is noted that the motivational sphere occupies an important place in the structure of specialist’s personality because it determines cognitive and creative activities. It is revealed that the reason for the low competitiveness of young professionals in the labour market lies not only in the imperfection of the training system, but also in the youth’s socially adaptive perception of their future and the future of their country, lack of motivation for education and employment. Theoretical substantiation of the concept «formation of the competitiveness of the future specialist in the sphere of economics» is made. It is proved that the competitiveness of a specialist is a multi-faceted category which includes a wide range of components and is formed under the influence of both personal and national factors. The author reveals the concept and describes the components of the students-economists’ professional competence. The necessity of considering labour market needs while planning the training of specialists at higher educational institutions is substantiated. The prospects of further research are seen within the above mentioned direction.
