Abstract

By the nineteenth century Russia had to face the complication of the international situation in the Caucasus. Not old opponents, Turkey and Persia, once again tried to change the alignment of forces that has developed as a result of the Russo-Turkish and Russian-Persian wars. Emperor Nassia of Rassia understood that in order to maintain lasting peace and strengthen international positions of Russia, mutual understanding with Great Britain, the most powerful economic power of that time, is required. In St. Petersburg, they clearly realized that if the Russian Empire wants to secure a long-term peaceful perspective, a stable and stable geopolitical position, then mutual understanding with Britain is necessary. The ruling circles of Britain, hypnotized by the mythical Russian danger, missed an important chance of Anglo-Russian rapprochement. After many decades, when the factor of the German threat appeared with certainty before England, it began to be realized in London. To St. Petersburg, they persistently and consistently tried to find ways to bring together the two world empires. But these impulses did not find a favorable response on the shores of Albion. Here until the beginning of the XX century. Strong anti-Russian sentiments prevailed.
