Abstract

For decades, scientists have tried to answer the question: how did the colonial Burma perceive the Western world, and how did people in such countries as the United Kingdom and the United States form their views? This article explores the diplomatic relations between the United States and Burma, which were established in 1948. The historical process of the beginning of the reform of the system in Burma, which was stimulated by the administration of Barack Obama, is recognized, recognized positive democratic changes in this country. The directive for this support was: to promote political and economic reforms in Burma; strengthening national reconciliation; creation of a system of transparency and accountability of state institutions; empowerment of local communities and civil society; ensuring participation in international affairs and protecting human rights. Although significant progress has been made in the country, problems remain, especially in addressing tensions and preventing massacres, torture, violence and trafficking in persons in Rakhine State. In addition, much remains to be done to ensure the principle of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, to define a clear role for the military, to move from ceasefire agreements to building political dialogue and improving the rule of law and accountability of the government. The thesis is being analyzed that the United States continues to stress the need for tolerance, diversity and peaceful coexistence for the Burmese government.
