Full Field Evaluation of the Stress Tensor Components in 2D Photoelasticity Via Computer Software
Journal Title: Strojnicky casopis - Journal of Mechanical Engineering - Year 2016, Vol 66, Issue 2
Abstract
The aim of this work is to find out the components of stress tensor in plane specimens. For this purpose the photoelasticity methodology is used. In order to make this technique more comfortable for use, there was developed an algorithm in MATLAB program. The results are compared with numerical solution. The main advantages of the developed algorithm are the speed and the capabilities to extend to analyze the plastic deformation and strain conditions in the material during forming processes.

Preface – Dedicated to Prof. Ing. Pavel Élesztős, Csc. and Prof. Ing. Stanislav Žiaran, Csc. on the Occasion of Their 70th Birthday
The article deals with the contribution of Prof. Ing. Pavol Élesztős, CSc. in the field of engineering. He was born in 1948, studied and subsequently remained at the Faculty of Engineering at the Slovak University of T...
The Assessment of the Residual Stresses Influence on Generation of the Infringement in Shape-Complex Supporting Members
The aim of the paper is to assess the effect of residual stresses on the damage of the slide bearer. To quantify the residual stresses, the drilling method using SINT MTS 3000 drilling machine was chosen. The tensometr...
Modeling of Ice-Shedding from ACSR Power Line
In this contribution, the analysis of ice-shedding from Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) power lines is presented. The impact of the icing position on the overhead power lines, the resulting jump height, and...
HVAC Systems Heat Recovery with Multi-Layered Oscillating Heat Pipes
The aim of this work is to investigate a heat performance of a Multi-Layered Oscillating Heat Pipes Heat Exchanger (ML-OHPHE) for the application of heat recovery in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (H...
Dynamic and Sensitivity Analysis General Non-Conservative Asymmetric Mechanical Systems
In this paper the concept of generalized form of proportional damping is proposed. Classical modal analysis of non-conservative continua is extended to multi DOF linear dynamic systems with asymmetric matrices. Mode or...
