Functional outcome of titanium elastic nailing in midclavicular fractures
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Orthopaedics Surgery - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 3
Abstract
Introduction With changing trends in the treatment of displaced midthird clavicle fractures more and more fractures are treated surgically Even though plating remains the gold standard minimally invasive technique with Titanium Elastic Nail TEN is gaining popularity In this paper we are assessing the functional outcome of mid third clavicle fracture treated with TENMaterials and Methods Thirty patients with midclavicular fractures were treated with TEN Functional and radiological results were evaluated at 3 6 and 12 months Implant was removed in all cases after unionResults All cases united without any infection and constant scores were 913 963 and 987 at 3 6 and 12 months respectively 46 complained of prominent implant medially and in three patients we had to trim the medial end of implant Clavicular shortening observed were also in acceptable limitsConclusion Titanium elastic nailing is a simple safe cosmetically preferred and minimally invasive technique for midclavicular fractures with good functional outcome and fewer complicationsKeywords Midclavicular fractures Titanium elastic nailing TEN

Treatment of diaphyseal fractures of humerus with functional brace
Background: Conservatively treated fractures of the humeral diaphysis have a high rate of union with good functional results. The aim of the current study was to study the outcome of diaphyseal fractures of humerus treat...
Grading of unstable distal radius fractures and its evaluation using JESS fixation
Introduction: Unstable distal end radius fractures are a common entity with various treatment options. The degree of instability varies with each fracture and it has a bearing on the treatment outcome. We are trying to g...
Proximal femoral fixation nail in proximal femoral fractures- study on biomechanical forces causing implant failure
Objective: Purpose of this study is to evaluate biomechanical factors working around hip which leads to implant failure. Knowledge of these biomechanical forces may help in some modification in implant design or developi...
