FUNCTIONAL-SEMANTIC PARADIGM OF THE ONE-SYLLABLE ACTUAL IMPERSONAL SENTENCE IN THE MODERN MEDIA DISCOURSE (ON THE MATERIAL OF UKRAINIAN NEWSPAPERS)
Journal Title: Науковий вісник Херсонського державного університету. Серія: “Лінгвістика” - Year 2018, Vol 33, Issue
Abstract
The article deals with the functional-semantic paradigm of actually impersonal sentences that make up the core of impersonality. The main member of the analyzed monosyllable sentences is expressed by an impersonal verb, whose semantics points to the absence/impossibility of both the grammatical and semantic subject. Semantic subgroups of such sentences are determined by the semantics of predicative syntaxes: a message about the state of nature; spontaneous atmospheric and meteorological phenomena; a message about psychophysical processes in the human body; a message about physical processes in the human body as a metaphorical reflection of social processes in the surrounding world; modal values of desire/reluctance, necessity/opportunity; indication of success, luck with the value of chance; an indication of the presence/absence of some quantitative changes, phenomena or states in the environment, expressed by an object syntaxema in the form of generic case; passive, unconscious perception of the subject of the surrounding reality.
