GENDER EQUALITY IN TRANSITIVE SOCIETIES: PROBLEMS AND PERSPECTIVES

Abstract

The article shows that the preservation of gender inequality and the high level of gender discrimination in transitive societies is due to incomplete modernization and liberalization of social life, as well as historically formed social stereotypes, which often form the basis of the formation of individual and collective identity, which is caused, on the one hand, by declarative nature of law system, on the other hand, by transition of a number of social prejudices and gender stereotypes against which recognition is guaranteed. Against this background, it is emphasized that the elimination of discrimination and the achievement of gender parity in transitive societies, including Ukraine, requires radical economic and world outlook transformations, which will lay the foundation for the formation of symbolic politics corresponding civilization requests aimed at emphasizing the value of a personality
