General tendencies of development and prospects of farms of Carpathian region

Abstract
Change of direction of agrarian and social policy of Ukraine requires new strategy as to farms activity. Modern tendencies force conditions, being mostly favorable for large-scale agrarian enterprises. Thus, in most of regions of Ukraine, farms are one of the main professional activity and important connecting element of organizational system of agricultural production. At the same time, there are some restraining factors of development of small-land farms of Carpathian region, among which are: lack of state support of small farms, limitation of their access to financial resources, imperfection of legislative base in the sphere of admitting system and licensing, limited possibility to participate in state orders etc. Aim of the article is to make estimation of results of farms performance in Carpathian region and argumentation of measures as to settling and stimulation of their further development. During 2013, farms of Ukraine increased production by 6,5%. Carpathian region has a considerable impact on indicators of production of gross output in general and surely can be called an animal-breeding region of Ukraine. Farms of Carpathian region, as an economy of great social and economic importance for rural population, are represented by rather high indicators of performance in relation to the development of farming in Ukraine. Nevertheless, to secure further effective activity of farming of Carpathian region, the state should make some corrections: 1. Differentiation of farms according to a size of land holding. 2. Establishment of legal fundamentals for transformation of private peasants’ economies into family farms of small size, so-called inner rural, mostly self-employed economic subjects, having a status of juridical person. 3. Implementation of family farms into the existing legal field, securing corresponding fiscal preferences. 4. Development of a mechanism of state support for farms of small size at the same level as large forms of economies in agrarian sphere
