Abstract
Η μεταρρύθμιση των ΑΕΙ δεν είναι απλώς μια τεχνοκρατική υπόθεση. Η περίφημη θεωρία του πίθου των Δαναΐδων για τις επενδύσεις στην εκπαίδευση, δηλαδή ότι αυτές αποτελούν ένα τρύπιο βαρέλι γιατί δεν έχουν οικονομική ανταποδοτικότητα, είναι εσφαλμένη καθώς παραγνωρίζεται η ανταποδοτικότητα των εκπαιδευτικών επενδύσεων στον πολιτισμό, στην κοινωνική συνοχή και ευημερία. Στα πλαίσια της παραπάνω διαπίστωσης εξετάζονται τα ζητήματα ανωτατοποίησης των ΤΕΙ, των βαθμο- λογικών ορίων στις εισαγωγικές εξετάσεις, της αξιολόγησης των ΑΕΙ και της εκλογής των πανεπιστημιακών οργάνων.
