Heads of terrorist organization as a factor in its dynamics: political and anthropological analysis

Abstract
The proposed article deals with three interconnected aims. First, to establish what the role of the leaders of political extremists is in the emergence of terrorist groups and the formation of their structure. Second, to define what the leaders are in everyday life of their organizations. Third, to analyze what these leaders’ role could be in the process of possible deradicalization of the underground, its disarmament and return to legal politics. The interest for the leadership of the terrorist underground is traditionally limited to the “decapitation” of anti-government organizations and its consequences. In other words, it is more about organizations’ reaction to the neutralization of their leaders than about leaders themselves. This article focuses attention precisely on those who head terrorists underlining main directions and forms of their influencing the formation and further activity of underground structures.
