High resolution transmission electron microscopy of irregular NiFe/Cu multilayers
Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2015, Vol 9, Issue 11
Abstract
NiFe/Cu alloy films and multilayers were electrodeposited from a nickel sulfate bath in the potentiostatic mode. The growth of the layers is studied via high resolution transmission electron microscopy. A wavy pattern is formed during the deposition process which could be the result of an induced stress. Ni-rich regions are detected as clusters. Giant magnetoresistance of the structure is significantly reduced due to the irregular deposition.
