Historical development of dietetics as the science of health protection

Abstract
The historical development of dietetics from the ancient times to the twentieth century is described in the article. The main attention is focused on the essential aspects of dieteticsas the science about protection of healthof children and adolescents during the process of their education and upbringing. The article covers the aspects of fundamental historical experience in the development of problems of dietetics in the educational processes of the various social formations, which play the important role in preserving children and adolescents. The activity of teachers, philosophers and doctors, whose works are focused on the concentration and validation of methods and different concepts within the educational practice for solving the problem of saving the youth’s healthis described in the article.
