Historiography of the study of the Skadovs’ki family

Abstract
The article examines the historiography of the Skadovs’ki family. Shown that the kind of story studies Skadovs’ki family and their contribution to the development of of South Ukrainian region has several periods. The early period, which falls on those 1840-1917-1920-ies is characterized by the formation of interest to economic activity of Skadovs’ki family, appearance the first research about life and activities of different figures (naturalist and archaeologist G.L. Skadovsky, painter M.L. Skadovsky). The second period came in the Soviet period and lasted up to the end of 1980s. During this time define the contribution of the family in the history of Ukraine depended on the overall assessment of the role of the nobility in the economic and cultural processes. During the third, modern period (from the early 1990’s) increases interest of researchers to the experience of noble families, including the Skadovs’ki family, been an evolution from the popular to the scientific studies. It was greatly complemented the information about genealogy of family, there were achievements in the direction of the study of its individual representatives. Diverse activities representatives of family has led to constant attention of the researchers in various industries. The long period of studies Skadovs’ki family kind does not go far beyond the local history studies. We was made conclusion about the lack of papers in the Ukrainian historiography, which would make full covered the life and work the Skadovs’ki family.
