Human rights and religious freedom in the system of observance of international humanitarian standards.

Abstract
The article attempts to establish a place that holds religious freedom in the system of international humanitarian standards and to clarify the legal mechanisms for compliance with these standards. To this end, the relevant provisions of major international legal instruments, including the UN Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Intolerance and Discrimination on the Ground of Religion, were analyzed. It is concluded that religious freedom is one of the fundamental international humanitarian standards in the field of human rights. However, in most cases there is no mechanism for their effective implementation, which maintains a high level of religious discrimination, especially in third world countries. This, in turn, requires further improvement of national legislation, which is particularly relevant in the process of global ecumenical trends.
