Human Visual Perception Concepts As Mechanisms For Saliency Detection
Journal Title: Acta Technica Napocensis- Electronica-Telecomunicatii (Electronics and Telecommunications) - Year 2012, Vol 53, Issue 1
Abstract
Predicting human eye fixations is a difficult task that usually involves complex knowledge about the human visual perception pathways. This paper proposes a method to detect salient locations using a psycho visual space based on color perception, perceptual decomposition of visual information in multiple processing channels and contrast sensitivity as basic concepts. Using a linear support vector machine to train a saliency detector directly from human eye fixation data, salient locations were predicted as a linear combination of features. Testing results have proved that the proposed method performs better than other state-of-the-art methods with certain common concepts.

Vector Control of Induction Motor Based Space Vector Modulation
It is well known that the vector control based on hysteresis regulators of induction machine presents less performance in term of current quality witch translated by strong ripples at steady state what increases the comm...
Combustion Sound Analysis to Control the Burning Quality
The quality of the burning process may be investigated by using different means, such as visual inspection, employing electro- chemical transducers or analyzing the sound generated by the burning process. This paper reve...
Blocking In Design Of Experiments
Real life electronic systems must perform within tight limits even if affected by uncertainties such as temperature and supply variations. Design of Experiments (DoE) plays an important role in improving the quality of...
Digital Implementation of The Sigmoid Function for FPGA Circuits
In this paper, is proposed a method to implement in FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) circuits different approximation of the sigmoid function. Three previously published piecewise linear and one piecewise second-orde...
Simplification Of A Link Performance Prediction Method Based On Mutual Information
In this paper, we propose a method to predict the block error rate performance of the wireless links in OFDM communication systems. Our approach relies on a performance prediction methodology that uses the mean mutual in...
